Males
I'll only comment on number 2
"2. Male elementary school teachers… frowned upon? "
To say that as a former 1st and 3rd grade male teacher, it's an advantage IMHO. You're a minority- school's want a male figure at that age group. Parents asked to have their kids placed in my class- and not because of my teaching skills. Especially from many single-parent families.
You walk into a job fair and compete with the numerous women and you've got a leg up.
You still have to be a good teacher though...
