Application Process

Post by martijem »

My original plan was to seek out jobs that fit both mine and my husband's criteria and experience, send our CVs and required documents, then follow up. However, the various recruiting websites recommend applying through their services. I understand this may be for obvious reasons, but am wondering if it is better to take that route due to their screening process. Do schools prefer reviewing applications and hiring through a recruiting agency? Is it just as affective to go it alone?

Openings already

If you bookmark the vacancy pages of 'target' schools it's somewhat easy to see openings. I'm already seeing openings and schools are posting that you can contact them directly.

Whether they'll hire is another question, but if you're a good candidate they might jump. Can't hurt.

I am interested in how others have gained employment. Did you apply directly through the school or through a recruiting agency (or both)?
