A quick question for those of you in the know out there...Is IT/ computer teachers. directors considered an in demand position? We are applying as a couple one with IT experience the other with elementary and special education experience....How do you think this combination is going to fair? No dependents just us...
Thank you ahead of time this forum has been great since this quest began a year ago...
IT/ computer teachers in demand?
TIE
Well, there are 18 positions posted in the last 30 days on TIE. Kind of depends on what position you're after.
A few are Director positions (Admin)- those will pay the best. Most are teaching positions. A couple are teaching/Director positions. In other words they pay a teacher's scale, but expect you to also direct. Much of the responsibility of a Director, but the pay and political backing of a teaching position. Those I'd avoid. Asking someone to teach half time, and then Direct half time rarely works out. Plus you're not part of the 'inner circle', and therefore don't have the influence an Admin would have.

ICT/teachers demand
Thanks for you information. It is helpful to think about what the school is asking of you before the interviews start....
We have seen and responded to many postings for ICT jobs I quess my biggest question is are there enough people out there to fill them or is it more like teacher need in math and science?
Thanks again for your kind response.
