They have a position posting that reads: Elementary School Homeroom Teachers as part of a Teaching Couple

What does this mean exactly? I haven't seen an ad like this before. I assume they only want teaching couples to apply, but I could be wrong. If I am right, what would the reasoning be for that particular position?

There are enough elementary teachers out there that they'll only take a teaching couple where one can fill the job. So if you are applying, your partner better be able to fill another vacancy there.

It means they have an elementary position available, but you have to bring a spouse who can additionally fill a different vacancy (other then elementary) that they have and are recruiting for. Essentially: singles, couples with trailing spouses, and dual elementary teaching couples need not apply.
