Nice!
The same just happened at my school. A teacher asked for PT because she just had a kid and did not want FT during the first year, and the school was keen to keep her so said yes.
Renewing contact- can I negotiate fewer hours?

We build our scheduling around the courses, the student needs and our teachers. Do we switch things around to accommodate teacher availability? Yes. As a small school, in a country where people can choose to be part time, we have to.
Is this easy? No.
Do we do it? Yes.

Do I personally have a different moral compass to you?
Yes. In fact, I actually have one. And it works.

Good news.
I'm happy it looks like it will work out.

The member side reviews are full of leaders with stories of "scheduling around the courses, the student needs and our teachers.", and when something breaks its the IT that ends up holding the bag. Do leaders do things because they have to, yes, thats not the same as doing something because they want to, or its in the best interests of the IT, because the reviews side is full of leaders that threw the IT under the bus in the 'best interests of the students or IS'.
My latest post for the LW is to be aware and dont be blindsided by an IS or a leader that says one thing and does something.

Do you get maternity leave? Or is there a job sharing scheme? Look for a viable proposal and suggest it but don't be surprised to be turned down. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
