Alice Smith is not in kl. It is in a crappier part of town dressed up with fancy lights. Depends on how many times you can stand going to the same mall. Guaranteed to need a car there or you will die of boredom. Probably better to live in the 'inner' outskirts and drive to work everyday. Traffic won't be a problem in that direction. Their second campus is further south, in a much more boring part of town. I'm not sure about their logistics since they will only offer me a local contract hence uninterested.
I have no idea about the tax since I just use my Malaysian ID for work here.

Doesn't matter where you live, you will need a car even if you live by the trains. Public transport here is rubbish and Taxis will rip you off. Either buy a car or find a partner with one. Most locals have a car or motorcycle.
I recommend living walking distance to the school first until you figure out what you like in KL. My recommendation will depend on which school you are going to.

I'm in a similar position and I have IB experience. Either I suck at interviews now, or the recruiters want to wait for someone cheaper. I have 3 dependents which turn them off.
Also had quite a bit of bad luck. One excellent school wanted me, but really needed somebody else's wife. I entered an interview for a position they had already offered at least twice. A few schools already offered people with dependents previously so can't afford me. And finally my favorite and most recent, I was their first choice, but they offered the position to some guy as a local hire. Economy in the USA must really sucksince he accepted.
I guess I might see you at Bangkok

Honour of using their hospitals??? Well, anybody can walk into a local hospital in china and seek treatment. They are extremely good, after all, execution awaits incompetent doctors. Maybe untrained at using their super fancy modern equipment, but definitely know what they are doing.
One issue will not change, how will you communicate effectively with them. This will probably apply to getting back your retirement contributions....good luck

2yrs Ib and 3yrs a-levels. Some schools said not enough middle school experience. I've interviewed with quite a few very good schools, but it doesn't help when I miss out because somebody's partner is a needed admin. I've had at least 2interviews where they already offered the job to someone else before I even walked into the room.
I'm actually quite confused with the interview 'tactics' at the fairs. Not many seem to want to talk about my experience. They said my references have taken care of that. I've had to listen to heads talking about the package they have. Am I missing something here?
QSI dismissed my application and changed the Maths part of the subject to Moths...so not interested

Are the schools being ultra tight this year? I have 6 years of international teaching experience and I teach Math and Physics. Attractive till they see the non-teaching wife and 2 kids.
A few schools are keeping me on their 'list' but seem to be waiting on cheaper options. 30 odd interviews so far this year. I know the real reason for some rejections since I know who they offered to at the fairs.
