I can only speak it terms of prioritizing your time. Send a letter of interest to the schools before the fair. Check your folder when you get to the fair. Visit any schools that showed interest first. Then go to the other schools on your list that have positions and try to get an interview. The fair is small, so it shouldn't be any problem getting to all of the schools that you mentioned during the sign up session. They'll quickly let you know whether they want to interview you or not.

You should have a pretty good idea of what schools have openings in your area before the fair. Do the majority of your research before you step a foot in the sign-up room. Of course, things always open up and disappear at the fair. After an offer, you probably will only have 24 hours to make the decision. Sometimes you may have more if they aren't going to another fair soon after, but don't count on it.
After the sign-ups you'll know which schools you are going to interview with. I suggest getting a subscription to International Schools Review (ISR) if you don't already. Check the reviews of your school there, here, and anywhere else you can find. Talk to people in the candidate's lounge as well as your associate. People already in the international teaching circuit have lot of information.
I would suggest making a list of things that are important to you and your non-negotiables. Know how much you need have in income, what benefits you're expecting. Check the Search database. The benefits information is pretty much all there.
During the interview you can ask to speak with a teacher at the school. Ask if there are any teachers from the school attending the fair. You'll usually have a bit of time before the second interview. From my experience, the offer is usually made after the second interview. Some people even have a third interview. I always ask the interviewer what do they wish that someone had told them.
Couples are supreme, but there is plenty out there for a single with no dependants. It does help to have international experience but Cambridge seems to cater to good number of experienced educators with no previous international experience. Good luck.

It was a pleasant, small fair. There were lots of people that were new to international teaching and a good number of local teachers. More ESL teachers than at other fairs. There are schools from South/Central America and the Caribbean. It was in the same format as the other fairs. There was the folder system for communication, an open sign-up session and then the interviews. I did not have anything in my folder but I rustled up about 5 interviews. None of those became job offers. It was probably not my ideal fair as a single with 2 dependents. A few of the schools that interviewed me told me that their packages wouldn't support my family. I think that's more of the case with schools in that area.
I attended that fair because it was cheap, early in the season, and a good friend got a job there a year earlier. Only one person in the friend group that I formed there received and accepted an offer at AASSA. She was a single, school counselor. She loves her job.
I attended Search Cambridge a few months later and had lots of interest and choices. I almost cried when I looked in my folder and saw the slips. Good luck!

I've attended both of those fairs. They are really different and I would decided based on what you're looking for. The AASSA fair is small and almost exclusively South American and Caribbean schools. I'm sure the list of schools attending should be available at this point. They were definitely hiring. I also continued to get information about jobs later into the season. There were many people new to international teaching and a lot of ESL teachers. There was a variety in terms of school quality.
Everyone that I met at Bangkok (1st Bangkok) was a seasoned international teacher. The competition was still and it's early in the season but they were definitely hiring. All of the top Asian schools are there and schools from other areas as well, but very few from South/Central America region.
I've decided to go for the best of both worlds this year, and attend Search Cambridge. The top Asian schools and the better South American schools are there.

Last year I went thru and compared the schools and there were only like 3 or 4 that went to ISS BKK and not Search BKK. If I remember correctly, there was one in Nigeria and maybe 2 in the Middle East. I can't remember the names. You can see the names of the schools attending the ISS fair without joining.
