@Gus or others, what would you say about the American Community School of Abu Dhabi?
It's widely considered the best school in Abu Dhabi and first tier with from what I've seen the best package in the UAE.

I know the starting salary is $24,000. I'm curious where I'd be as I'm Masters and 4 years experience. If it's around $30,000, I can start to consider it. At 24k, it doesn't matter how low the cost of living is. There's only so much you can save.

Thai-Chinese International School Bangkok

Anybody have new info on this school? It sounds like the school's out of the city. How easy is access to Bangkok? What's around teacher housing? Possible to get by without a car?

There's a lot of information on their web site: http://www.asij.ac.jp/page.aspx?pid=2220 I haven't seen anything significant against the school other than the fact that I probably have no chance getting hired there for another decade or so. That said, because of the package and the location, it's #1 on my list of places I'd like to teach.

Good topic. I'd definitely like to hear the flip side of this one too with which schools have awful housing. An amazing place to live honestly would be somewhat wasted on me because I like being outdoors, but a terrible place could ruin an otherwise great time.

What is the lifestyle like there. When I pictured living in Bangkok, I figured I wouldn't need a car. You'd need one here right? Is this suburb type living Thai style?
The reviews are under 'Al Raha International School' in the members section.
That explains it. Thanks! Seems like a decent place to get IB experience.

I really appreciate all the feedback. This sounds like it would be very far from my image of living in Bangkok (sitting downtown eating lots of yummy street food for example) and a bit of a sacrifice in some other places too. I'm looking for my first spot so I expect to make a sacrifice or two and I expect some challenges. Just not sure which challenges I'll prefer. Lots to think about.

Anybody know anything about this school? There are no reviews in the member section and I haven't heard of them.

Ruamrudee International School Bangkok

Anybody have any recent updates on the school? Sounds like a lot of transition from the reviews a year or so back. Any idea if things are getting better or worse? Bangkok's one of my top places I'd like to go, but sounds a bit chaotic there.

Top Tier in South America

After spending some time on here, I have a pretty good idea what schools are the top tier in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. I have no idea about South America. What schools would you consider to be the top schools in South America? I know you generally can't save as much, but there are some that allow you to save decently.

Fair enough. Valid points. I'm not taking part in the conversation, but I won't lie that I am interested. I don't think it crossed any lines, but I can see your points.
