Same Story Here

I was at the UNI Fair last week and as soon as I mentioned a non-teaching spouse and child, I was given the bum's rush. I was dissapointed in not getting a contract. It was my first attempt at an overseas teaching job. I now have a better insight to the situation and hope that in the future I'll have better luck. I did meet some really nice people while I was there and it could later help with netwroking.

Keeping Cerftificate Active

If you teach at a school that is not accredited by a US association, will it be difficult to renew your certificate?

Do any of the search firms, UNI, etc. try to weed out the more egregious offenders in this aspect?

For-profit/Non-profit

For-profit organizations operate for the benefit of the owner(s). Non-profit organizations operate for the benefit of the beneficiaries. Should a school’s ultimate focus be on profit or students? In education, I’m in favor of a focus on students.

What are the legal remidies on contracts?

I've been reading about schools not keeping all of of their promises. If they are in a contract, how are these issues settled?
