Hello,
I have just had a file activated in Search Associates. I have gone through the database and emailed a lot of schools through the Search program. I am just curious if schools really do read these messages. Will they respond?
Thanks for any insight.

Seisen School
I have a friend who applied, interviewed, and accepted a job at this school within the last week. As of this point, they have never inquired about her religious beliefs. I hope that helps.

ISY
I live in Yangon, though I do not work at ISY. From my discussions with teachers there, I think people are currently pleased with the administration. The school is expanding quickly as Myanmar has opened up. It has a solid reputation and continues to look for ways to improve student learning. Their focus for the coming year, for example, will be the integration to technology. Yangon is an interesting city, and it's an exciting time to be in Myanmar. I think you would be pleased with a decision to work at ISY.

Where are all the singles at?
I'm over 30 and really enjoying teaching on the international circuit. I may change to another school, so I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on which schools and/or cities are more friendly for single people?

Reviews
In general, I would say read the reviews and know that they are often posted by people who have an agenda. I came to a school that had mixed reviews, and I absolutely love where I am working. If all the reviews are extremely negative, I would recommend doing some research. The best thing to do is to try to contact a teacher who is currently teaching there and ask questions.

I do not have my resume on TIE. However, I sent my paperwork to many schools from TIE. I did have skype interviews and job offers because of it. I had as many skype interviews before UNI as I had at UNI. I went to UNI because I had already registered.
I think TIE is an effective technique for getting a job as well.

I recently received the school profile from them. The foreward is written by Dr. Timothy Hansen who has a great reputation and is a trustworthy source. I respect his opinion, and he has great things to say about the school.
It is predominately native students and education is separated by girls and boys as is customary in Arab schools.
I have not been there, but I sense it is a strong school.

I truly believe that your attitude is the biggest factor in how you feel about the school you are working at. For example, I have read people's complaint about the Middle East because of the prayer calls that come from the mosque five times a day. Well, of course, that happens. When someone decides to go to the Middle East, he/he has to know that is a fact of life there. Be excited to learn the culture, involve yourself in a variety of activities, and have fun.
The school and country make a difference, of course, so you have to do your research. But, once you're there, your attitude matters most! I say go for it.

ichiro, I understand what you are saying, and I am registered at a fair. However, it seems that more and more schools are doing their recruiting using skype as much as possible. It is cheaper for the school too.
While I will still attend UNI, I have had five skype interviews (with two job offers) already. I will also have at least two more before UNI. I just received these interviews by sending an email with paper work to the schools.
It's been an interesting experience.

UNI just extended their registration deadline to January 20, so you should register soon. I just registered on Friday. Some of the schools attending are schools I sent information to earlier. I sent the same schools a second email indicating I now had a complete credential file at UNI. I would suggest going to the fair. It's a unique and fun experience.
