Re: Vietnam - marriage work permit exemption

I think that your friend should engage with a lawyer in Vietnam.
I would suggest that he joins some visa Facebook groups, but all cases are different and some people are not really qualified to give advice! There is a group that is run by a Vietnamese Lawyer...Linh something. He might be better to advise!
Good luck, the laws are not clear at this moment.

Re: Teachanywhere.com

I would echo what the other posters say...

They are a free service, so their interests are not really for us small fish (tadpoles); I felt like it was just 'get 'em in for interviews', even if there was no match, despite telling them what you want (I said I wanted a bigger school, they put me up for was smaller schools, I wanted a specific curriculum, I got everything but, list can go on....).

You have to do your research as Teachanywhere don't have all the information, so much so they say 'oh, that could be something you can ask them about in the interview!'

That said, they did have some exciting schools on their books, but depends on your needs..... if I was a first time teacher with no expectations, I would have taken some of their jobs.

Good luck!

Re: CIS & Nagoya

I would echo the previous poster, get in there and then see if you get an interview! I am working in Japan and it is a uniquely different living experience for me, it is very clean, safe and ridiculously easy to get about…downsides are travel (inside and to travel out ) can be expensive, the expat life is limited, but if you can live a 'jet' life then you'll have lots of chances to meet Japanese people….

Re: Please help me from getting discouraged!

I know you can't help but feel rubbish and despondent about the job searching thing, but the percentage of people who find jobs at the recruitment fair is pretty low…I read somewhere! However, I was like you when I went to Search three years ago, but I got a job outside of a fair in March…so have a rest this weekend and start again next one!
