Substitute License

My partner has a substitute teaching license. We are looking at applying for the 17-18 school year to various places, preference being SE Asia. We were looking at several places in Indonesia and I know one of the requirements is an active license in home country. Would a substitute license suffice?
Thanks!

Substitute licenses are not common and not commonly accepted by schools or countries for visa purposes. Some schools may hire him/her anyway but they are likely the kind of schools who would potentially hire him with no kind of license.

They should look into one of the alternative paths to certifications (Teach Now, Teacher Ready etc).

I concur with @WT123 an IS does not typically intend a substitute license as meeting the requirements for being professionally credentialed. A lower tier IS may accept it, but in such cases they are likely desperate or would appoint you without having a license at all.
