Question for those who have moved with a non married partner

Post by calbeck1 »

Hey all, I am planning to attend the San Fran fair this Feb.

I am planning on taking a job and then moving with my girlfriend. She is not a teacher.

How does the housing package work if you plan on living with a person who is not a teacher?

Any advice from people who have moved with a non-teacher, non-married partner would be appreciated.

Non-married partner

Hi,
I am in SE Asia and the problem here would be that your unmarried partner would have no 'right' to a dependence visa. Thus it would be a case of having him/her on a tourist visa and having to exit and re-enter the country every few weeks...

A marriage certificate, on the other hand, would mean dependence visa , air fares, allowances etc -as pointed out by previous poster...I don't know how your situation stands, but I do know teachers here who have found getting married the most effective solution!!

Sorry not to be more encouraging....
