Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone might recommend a fully online, ideally asynchronous school administrative credential program offered in the US? I have a California teaching license but could also transfer the credential from another US university back to CA for when I move back home from working abroad. And I already have a Masters, so am not looking for a Masters program, just a credential program.

Well I have a few suggestions but you dont need to do that much work. You can get the DC Administration Standard (Professional grade) credential with a Masters degree, 4 years experience and passing the ETS SLLA exam. Its a renewable 4 year credential.

You can get a Provisional (Entry grade) executive leadership credential (Superintendent) from MA with a Bachelors degree, 3 years experience, and passing the MTEL Communication Literacy exam (its an English language proficiency exam). While a lower grade than the DC credential it would be an effective lifetime credential that wouldnt requirie renewal (and the associated PD).

Thank you PsyGuy, especially for the information about DC. I have emailed the CA credentialing group to see if they would accept an exam done out of state. CA also has an exam but the logistics make it really complicated for someone abroad!!

Not going to happen. The asst pathway in CA is only an in-state pathway, there is no out-state asst pathway. They arent going to accept anything other than the CPACE. CA wont accept the asst route to the DC admin credential either as you need to have completed an admin academic pathway, EPP/NPQ program.
The Preliminary admin credential is the easiest route assuming you have 5 years of DE experience in the US before you went into IE as CA does not accept OS experience for credentialing.
If you dont have the experience then the best option to get into admin for CA is to obtain the DC and the MA credential, and maybe look at something like the Harvard CSML and then shop that resume to private/independent DSs around the US for leadership appointments until you have a total of 5 years experience. Otherwise head back to CA and teach until you have the 5 years of experience. Either way once you have that you apply for a Certificate of Eligibility and then look for a CA leadership appointment.

Theres nothing incorrect.

You need more than an asynchronous school administrative credential program, you need one thats an academic route (such as a Uni) as CA doesnt accept alternative pathways.
