Is there anything like SA/ISS/Schrole for the US?

I'm looking to leave international teaching and move to the US. I'm assuming no American schools use SA/ISS/Schrole, but are there similar ones where you collect confidential references? If so, I would like to start building a profile sooner rather than later. Is LinkedIn used much? I'm particularly interested in California, Colorado, Utah, Oregon and Washington.

Thanks!

Many search firms in the US, but most schools also list on the NAIS website...it is free to join and the listings are not only from schools not using firms, but schools doing their own searches.
NAIS website will also give you details of other search firms...but Carney is the main one for teachers...depending on your skill level, subject and history...you will either love them or hate them more than Search or Schrole.
My suggestion is to start with NAIS and go from there.

Thanks! This seems very useful. I was very surprised to see that they still request confidential references via regular mail : ) Does not seem like a very efficient organization, but I will give it a try.

Carney Sando.
They are actually very efficient but they want real letters in file. Its what their clients the DSs want. All of their clients have HR departments and various means to include digital documents in their files.

NAIS is an option they are bigger over all than Carney Sando, but still comparatively small (many DSs just arent members).

Public schools are a lot more open to virtual interviews nowadays so you can just apply to wherever you want to work. California has a pretty convenient statewide application system

Search actually do list a few in the USA. Just go to your Search profile and search by country, click USA and you'll see a few pop up.

Southern Teachers Association is great if you want to be in the south. They have a pretty far reach.

There is also Schoolspring.com. This was created in Vermont and mostly has postings for the New England area but occasionally you can find jobs in other places. In fact, in Vermont you are required to use it to apply for a position.
