ISS and Schrole Split

Post by IE_sciteacher »

As many know, ISS and Schrole have ended their partnership, returning to individual recruiting agencies. What do people think will be the best move for teachers based on this split?

Will ISS have better access to schools globally as they have the history? Will one be better regionally (Schrole in SEA?)? Would a combination of Search and one of these be most effective?

Curious to hear what educators and especially admin have to say on this topic.

I do not think ISS, Schrole, and Search can exist at the same time, one or more will disappear sooner than later. In-person recruiting is going to be thin on the ground for the forseeable future, and a lot of schools simply don't want or need to pay agency placement fees to get teachers.

They will go back to their roots and use those differentiate themselves. ISS will go back to a managed recruitment model with a scheduled super fair aligned with SA. Schrole will continue as an application management system that has a paid back channel to a jobs service. SA will continue their jobs service with a heavy emphasis on fairs.

Fairs arent going away, not for the foreseeable future. Leaders and recruiters want the fairs because the dynamics benefit the recruiters and there are personal benefits the recruiters and leaders enjoy.

The real issue isnt which agency is going to pivot or do X, its really what model can evolve and survive as ISs are more and more in a position to recruit successfully forgoing the cost of IT placement fees for cheaper advertising channels.
