An hour, but it depends how much of that is metro compared to walking or peddling. 20 minutes is my limit to walking whether combined with metro or not. I actually like the longer metro commute. Some of the advantages are:
- It gives me time to get into teaching mode on the ride, I can formulate lessons, and what I need to do when I get in.
- It lets me wake up with an iced coffee.
- I'm less likely to be called in on a weekend for an emergency.
- I have better access to living among an area I find personally enjoyable with access to markets, pubs, and things to do. I hate commuting into the city on the weekends.
- The metro is a social opportunity to connect with others that lead to various social encounters.
Disadvantages:
- I'm late more often, but at least I have an excuse. To that end, thee are more things that can happen that effect my attendance.
- Ive been criticized as being less committed and involved.
- Some times the hustle is unproductive, getting stuck on the metro without a seat for example.
- Sometimes I get stuck along my route and ned an alternative route that takes longer or is a grind.
