PE Teachers and schools that only locally hire

Like the post title alludes to, I am looking for information (regions or cities) where PE teachers are generally not an international hire position but a local hire position. I have asked for specific schools in the paid section of the Forum but no luck yet.

I know that a large school in Sao Paulo is a school that does not hire international teachers for PE in Elementary. I have also heard rumours of some schools in Switzerland following this pathway too.

If people have information on this it would be helpful as it would help filter regions/cities for teaching couples who have a PE partner and a non-PE teacher partner.

Thanks!

Over the years the most helpful way for me to find the answer to this question was keeping track of which schools on Search Associates or ISS/Schrole even post a PE opening. If they do that means they are open to hiring international PE teachers, if not, they most likely use local PE teachers or don't have a PE program. So I like to keep an active Search Account when possible (if not, there's usually a friend in your school who has an active account). I could give a list of specific schools but I'm currently not in the paid forum.

The whole of Latin America is pretty slim pickens for International PE teachers, somewhere around 10 schools in the entire region use Int. PE teachers.

Huge swathes of schools rely on local PE teachers.
As a married couple with a non-PE half, you have a better chance than a single PE teacher. Some schools will look at an int'l PE teacher as part of a couple since the expense isn't that much more. But the extra cost is real (flights, insurance, housing, possibly higher salary scale), so not all schools will even consider it.

Would make very little difference in Switzerland as salaries would be the same and there is no package to speak of.

In fact, local teachers in government schools often get paid more than teachers in international schools.

I concur with @Sid, there are a lot of ISs in IE that balk at the cost of an OSH for PHE by itself, its different in teaching couples and an IS is more ready to pay the cost of an OSH IT in PHE as part of a teaching couple. ISs will make that deal but unless youre an Olympian or recognized globally in a sport, ISs are more likely to save the coin with a LH PE IT.

I have not worked at a school with a local PE teacher yet but I do notice that PE teachers will stay at the same school longer than other teachers.

I'm pretty sure that posting a list of schools that hire foreign PE teachers is not going against the rules here. You are just stating facts, not leaving a review.
