I've found that it's extremely rare for teachers with big egos to be among the better teachers at a school.
It's sad, they can have a big negative impact on a school. At one of my previous schools, a group of teachers complained about a colleague because he was bullying other teachers, and he was eventually let go.

Colleagues and managers with huge egos, some borderline psychopaths. Not uncommon in IT. Many I feel are in ISs as they are unemployable at home and some ISs are toxic environments where this sort of person flourishes.
