Bi-Lingual Necessity?

Post by twoteachers »

I'm very interested in a vacancy in Guatemala. On the list of "preferred" qualifications it lists bilingual. How hard and fast is that when picking candidates? I've got some basic Spanish, but would need to live there to get into a more conversational swing of things. Thoughts?

Its better to interpret preferred to mean priority. It means that during selection instead of 2 groups 'select" and non-select' there are three, the previous two plus 'priority', the priority group gets looked at first during selection. It would be to your benefit if you can substantiate whatever criteria is being asked for to get into the priority group.
