Jobs filled at Bangkok fair?

Post by FV2020 »

Hi,

We are recruiting with SA, and we really want to land jobs in Asia (preferably East Asia/SE Asia); however, the cost of flying to Bangkok for the fair was too much for us. As stiff as the competition for jobs is, it seems like schools in Asia would have their pick and fill all open positions at the Bangkok fair. Are there still many jobs in this region left after the Bangkok fair?

Thanks so much!

Certainly a few years ago there were quite a few of the major tier 1 Asian schools at the London and Boston fairs. They were hiring a lot of teachers, too. It might be that hard to fill positions might be gone by then, but they seem to enjoy the circuit enough to keep it going to the states. Some even go on to the SF fair.

That was 2016. Not sure if it's changed much or not. Doubt those heads will be giving up their international travel anytime soon, though.

No, they dont get their pick, they are still Asian ISs, and they have to compete with all the WE and EU ISs. ITs would by and large rather go to a low tier IS in the EU than they would an elite tier IS in hardship regions in Asia. There are ITs at BKK who have turned down elite tier ISs because "why would I want to go to China".
