Don't mind the conspiracy theorist in him. Some of the things he says make sense. Some don't. Some of us understand those union protections; they can be great, but they often come at a cost to staff dynamism, cohesion, and good pedagogy. That is likely why your admin is going this route--an attempt to counter a stale staff. We can all learn from each other, sometimes specifically because of our different subject areas, so take it for what it is--an opportunity--and leave the stress to someone else. Do right by kids.

Union protections are not invulnerable. I strongly disagree with @Thames Pirate that this instructional coach was chosen to improve "dynamism, cohesion, and good pedagogy" based on the LWs description. No we cant all learn from each other, some ITs have nothing appreciable to contribute, and some dont want or care too.
