Did you ever get your refund? I'm less than hopeful that mine will ever show up. It certainly doesn't seem that GEL is in the business of satisfying requests.

Thanks for your input as well. You're the very first person I've come across anywhere on the internet that has something good to say about GEL or IEG. Could you please elaborate on the "more than five occasions" in which IEG has helped you? Did you attend recruitment fairs with them? Did you gain international school employment as a result? What exactly did they help you do, and why was your experience so radically different from mine and others in this post?

In regards to Mr. Spinks, could you please offer details as to why you would support him as a legitimate businessman? What types of services has he offered you that leave you with an opinion that differs from everyone else on this forum and elsewhere? Please regale us with these facts that you're so easily willing to repeat in a court of law, I'm very eager to hear the other side of this story.

i think it's interesting, but maybe just coincidental, that your first and only post on here is to come and defend GEL/IEG.

Interesting that I posted on LinkedIn four years ago? I saw this original post by chance as I am not a member of this International teacher review site. It is mostly USA and Canadian teachers so does not interest me and I see that you have to pay for a Yearly subscription .
I have noted that some of posts are in such poor English that it would surprise me if they were written by a teacher.
At least your comment was clearly written and not adversorial. Thank you.

I hate to be a nitpicker, but it's adversarial. Oh, and for what's worth it is my confirmed opinion given what I have read on this thread so far that the GEL/Global Edu. Logistics is a fraud. I think we both know that any disinterested observer, say the average woman on the 23 Clapham omnibus, would agree.

Thank you for your considered response but I could not divulge my CV on this public site suffice to repeat that four years ago I endorsed Andrew Spinks on LinkedIn.This is sufficient evidence that my posting on this site is not a set up. I have been placed by Andrew on three occasions. I will gladly admit that I never attend recruitment fairs as I have a strong CV which has always ensured I receive instant job offers. Aren't I lucky! I do not need to peddle my vast experience. It is quite frankly amusing to read the inappropriate, pathetic, unsubstantiated responses.
You seem a decent chap and I wish you well in your search for a decent position.

Every single one of my claims can be substantiated and I have a mile of email chains full of half-truths and whole-lies from GEL for just that purpose. Doesn't get much more substantial than that. I came here with the intention of telling my story and warning others about the GEL / IEG trap. I've done exactly that with zero hyperbole or editorializing.

I should state, too, that I do not believe that a single comment on this forum has been inappropriate. In fact, I think everyone here has done a fantastic job of articulating precisely the problems they've had with GEL, IEG and Mr. Spinks, in quite a professional manner.

As for pathetic comments, well that's just in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?

Slow clap for those instant job offers, though. How's the weather up there?

It's blatently obvious Lexicycle is Andrew, or at least works for the company.

Try and be a bit more subtle next time.

An unsubstantiated endorsement on LinkedIn is not evidence. It is a claim.

A substantiated endorsement on LinkedIn is evidence of a LinkedIn account. It would not be evidence that the poster is a distinct person unrelated to GEL.

Regardless of whether you are a British Subject/citizen or just a foreign resident, a recruiter cant charge a candidate for their services.

A linkedin profile proves nothing except that Andrew has created a professional network to support his activities. @Lexicycle is nothing more than a sock puppet alt identity for Andrew Spinks to monitor this media channel.

Just an update to the original post: It's been 17 days since we first sent money to Spinks / GEL. Still have not been refunded.

Like I said before - go to CAB. Get a small claims notification and tell him you will take action. Report to Trading Standards at your local council.

Hi @Gluxnis ,

I am just wondering if you managed to get a refund from GEL? I've seen your entire thread and unfortunately I think the same thing pretty much just happened to us.

If you haven't received your money, I suggest like others have in this forum is to go after it, which is what we are planning to do.
