Small, remote school for nature-lover

Hello!

Just curious, does anyone know of any schools that are NOT in a big city, but rather in a small village or town? I love the idea of a slow, simple life, and would love to apply to such a school. For example, somewhere near the Alps where people spend the winter afternoons skiing, or on a remote island in Thailand (I am partial to Europe and Asia, but open to anything).

Ideally the school would be well-organized and offering good quality education.

Thanks!

There is a boarding school in Austria - remote, in a village. Not sure of the name.

Ecole d’Humanité in Switzerland, Carlsbad School in Czech Republic, and St. Gilgen International School in Austria.

I think the school SJ is thinking of is Leysin.

I also second the nomination of Woodstock in India. Always been on my radar with an absolutely stunning setting.

UWC Red Cross Nordic in Flekke, Norway is in a postcard-perfect location. Quite competitive, though.

Agree with @Reisgio, St. Gilgen in Austria, but what you really want to look for is boarding ISs they are usually in more isolated locations.
