Can anyone speak to what life is like for expats in Santo Domingo, DR? Especially if you are working at the CM school? Safe for those with kids? How is the cost of living compared to salaries? Thanks!

Yes, I am interested in the CM school as well. I do know a few people that worked there 7 years ago. They enjoyed the school and spoke of meeting a lot of famous baseball players while there. I noticed some new postings and the pay seems good. Maybe someone can answer if it is a good spot for the region?

I think it is wishful thinking that this would be a good post with children. Santo Domingo is NOT SAFE even if the school grounds are. Crime is wholesale out of control in the city relative to any developed country's most dangerous cities. If this is okay with you, fine, but go in with eyes wide open; you are not going to be posted in a Caribbean paradise. SD is a hot mess.
