early hiring or being hired without fair attendance
early hiring or being hired without fair attendance
In your experience, are certain types of positions more likely to be hired via Skype or before fairs? Or does it just depend on the school?
Re: early hiring or being hired without fair attendance
There are no hard and fast rules, but schools are very aware that some positions are easier to fill than others. Elementary teachers are generally the easiest as they can teach multiple grade levels. So schools won't be desperate to fill those early. Which doesn't mean they won't make a hire if they find a good one, but they might be inclined to wait and see, knowing there will always be an option even if it gets late in the season. Positions like DP Chem and Physics can be quite hard to fill, so schools will jump as early as they can. Most posts are somewhere in the middle, meaning schools will hire when they find one that fits their needs.
