2016-17 vacancy predictions

Post by fine dude »

Which established/tier 1/elite schools/regions/content areas will probably have a greater number of high school vacancies for the 2016-17 school year?

Apart from contacting the schools directly, is there a way to get some inside information about the possibility of these vacancies?
I guess they will trickle down to the SEARCH database only from the end of sept or the beginning of oct.
Thanks.

Some positions for 2015-2016 have already been listed on Search. I find that some of the best positions are posted August - October on Search and are gone before the fair season. As to how to know what roles/schools will be losing a lot and therefore hiring a lot for 2015-2016, we would need some posters on here who have some inside information AND are willing to share. I have the former but am not the latter - at least not yet. You always need to look out for yourself first, especially in the world of international teaching! Good luck to all!

Agree with @reisgio, elite tier ISs tend to post much earlier, they need too they can get 1000 applications for one vacancy. Those positions are filled during early recruiting before fair recruiting and first night recruiting at the BKK fair at the latest.

A few beginner tips:

1) ISs will post vacancies on their website before they post them with the agencies. Create a bookmark lis and visit it daily.

2) Agencies know early who is looking when they activate profiles so they know whos leaving and which vacancies at least internally may become available.

3) Embassies can be a source, but you arent going to get access.

4) Leadership networks are the most reliable and earliest.
