Taking a partner abroad

I want to teach abroad again, and am trying to convince my partner (who works in business management, web production) to come with me. He is happy to experience living abroad, especially in Europe, but is very reluctant to move somewhere with out a job lined up for himself, which makes it difficult to secure a teaching contract. (I've been turning down offers)

Does anyone have any experiences they can share about successes, or challenges, in moving abroad with a significant other? Any thoughts on ways to approach finding him a job in Europe? Thank you so much for any advice you might have.

Your "partner" ...... gay or straight? It makes a difference. Some schools are a century or two behind the times; happily for me and my "partner" (gay), many schools have made the great leap forward.
