If you look at international cards, etc, it looks like this,
+44
or +971
the plus indicates the 011.
Only Canada and the US have the luxury of just dialing 01 :-)
On my CV I have
+44 (ok I don't really, it's just an example!)
and the recruiters all know it.

Trojan,
I had at least three interviews with IB schools where they were quite willing to train me. I am going to a full IB school where they have already told me I will be sent for training.
Don't think that you MUST have IB experience.
Also realize that the big IB schools will NOT take you without the experience and training...but the smaller out of the way schools will happily take you and train you if they feel you are a good fit and you will stick around for awhile...

Do not do a portfolio - it will never get looked at. Even a web portfolio might not be a good idea. Let me explain why.
A teaching couple had a website with their portfolio and history. Remember, these things are out there (and archived by Google, even if pulled down). These teachers both got jobs at a school.
Lo and behold, a couple of months later, some dissatisfied students went searching on the web. They found the teachers' site and portfolios, which confirmed to the students that the teachers did not really have the experience to teach what they were teaching. End result - the teachers are no longer teaching those courses and everybody at the school knows...I suspect those teachers will not be there past the end of the year...
Better, in my opinion, would be to create a 1 page fact sheet highlighting experience, skills, education, and interests. Make it colorful bold, and to the point.
Hope this helps!

Personally, you should use neither and go for bullet points.
ie...
English 8, 2002 - 2007, X School, China
- developed curriculum to fit within the MYP Framework
- aligned curriculum with AERO standards
- coordinated with 3 other MYP teachers to develop a cross-curricular unit
yada yada yada
Keep it to the point and simple, so they can see what skills you developed and applied.
Just my thoughts!

Definitely a smaller fair, Danny. Don't give up though - find that mid-level job, perfect your skills, and who knows?
I would also advise you to find an IB school to do DP maths - having a dual skills set (UK and IB) will open doors at more schools and the British system is not the be-all, end-all (and I have taught in both). There are a lot of overlaps with A levels and GCSEs in IB (but they might disagree a bit!)

You can be a great teacher and not aggressively recruited before a fair. There are always those hard-to-fill positions that are gone before the fair (and this year I know of four colleagues who were offered and accepted positions - pre-fair). However, most positions are filled at the fair and many of them are cold-filled based on contact which only began at the fair.
Also, I agree with DC girl on networking. We met a few people at this fair that we are keeping in touch with, first of all, because we hit it off, and second of all because in international teaching it is a small world and you just never know who knows who.
For instance, from two different sets of friends who don't know each other, both have another set of friends in common who happen to teach at the school I am going to next year. How small a world is that? Making and keeping those fair connections alive can give you the inside scoop/track on that next job, and vice versa. Besides, it is fascinating to meet new people and share experiences with them!

Let me put it this way - if I have two teachers who are fairly equal, but one has an extensive background in offering after-school activities (ASAs) and coaching/sponsoring and the other doesn't, then I would definitely choose the latter over the former, because they bring more to the school than the teacher who doesn't offer those options. All international schools like to offer vibrant ASAs and the like.
