The MEMBER FORUM (located in the MEMBER area of the web site) is expressly for posting a request for evaluation type material about schools.

The MEMBER FORUM can be reached at the following link.

You may request on this forum that someone post a review or comment on the MEMBER FORUM for you.

Re: Dear ISR... Please update the user interface.

If you will click the button that says "read reviews" above and below the list you will be taken to the web site and to an active list of all school listed in the newsletter. So, now, rather than having to return to the newsletter to see each newly listed school you can do so directly on the site. Sorry you missed that improvement. FYI: we are in the process of making the site adaptive to all devices. Keep your eyes out for the change. We will announce it very soon.

MartElla,

We understand your frustration. I did just check and I see there are 11 posts to this topic in the new Member Forum.

FYI: In the past when schools were freely discussed on the Open Forum, we continually found ourselves the target of schools threatening legal action due the nature of the comments being posted. Our repeated requests for the people posting the objectionable material to stop doing such only led to an increase in such postings and an increased resolve of schools to get it off the forum. Whether the posts were an organized attempt to discredit ISR and waste our resources, or attempts to bash schools and directors is beyond are ability to determine. In any event, as a final measure we reluctantly found it necessary to not allow "evaluations or rankings" of schools on the Open forum. To this end we installed a Member forum for the express purpose of sharing evaluation type material about schools. Being inside the Member area, the Member forum is exempt from many of the issues that surround an Open forum.

We understand your frustration. We did initially try to set posting standards for the Open Forum but some teachers chose to blatantly ignore them, pushing the limits until we simply had to request that no evaluation type discussions be carried out on the Open Forum.

We appreciate your support and understanding.

The Member Forum is only accessible to ISR Members. Thus, they are the only ones who can post to the Member Forum and/or view the forum. At one time we permitted users to post school-review type material to this Open Forum but user abuse and the problems it brought us from various sources caused us to end that practice. Yes, private messaging is functioning on the Member Forum. Again, it was active on these boards but users harassing other users caused us to deactivate it. We are confident this will not be the case on the Member form. The Member Forum is exclusively for review-type discussions about specific schools. All other topics will continue to be posted to this Open Forum.

We ask that you not post school review type material to this forum. We invite you to visit the Member Forum (in the Member Area of the site). The Member Forum is specifically for asking for and posting school-review type comments.

The New ISR Member Forum is for Reviewing Schools

Review-type information that cannot be permitted on this forum (the ISR Open Forum) is encouraged on the ISR Member Forum. We created the Member Forum because we believe International Educators need a place to ask colleagues for the inside word on what is going on at various schools. At one time this Open Forum hosted review-type comments but user abuse and unfortunate pressures forced us to end that practice.

If you have a Review-Type question or information to post about a school, the Member Forum is the place to do it. For all other topics please continue to post this Forum.
