There is already a thread regarding this. Maybe 10 threads below this one.

Early/Pre Fair interviews
Curious what they board thought about early/pre fair interviews. I am not referring to the ones that occur the night before or even the days leading into the fair. More so, I am meaning interviews that occur basically in November.
I have had a few Skype interviews this past week. Felt really good about one and said I would hear something back before Dec 1. School is signed up for 2 fairs I do believe as well.
Just curious what some veterans thoughts are on this. I plan on attending the Cambridge fair in January but if this school offers I am not sure what to do.
I appreciate your thoughts in advance. This place really helps with first timers who are jumping into the IT world!

Re: Package Negotiations
So I am a single IT currently. Would there be any room t negotiate since I will not be needed the offspring allotment for tuition? Maybe try and get an extra trip back home in place of it? I am not sure if this is possibly, I am just thinking outside the box here.

@mamava
Thanks for the response. Deep down I felt this was the case but IT is a different beast. If anything the nerves are calmed and patience will be practiced.
Thanks!

Re: Recruiting Help!
Glad to know some fellow posters are in the same boat as I am. I have been on the forum a lot but have not heard a lot of response time. I would think I will (hopefully) hear back from school in Nov/Dec maybe to set things up for fairs.

Recruiting Help!
I suppose what I am here is looking for reassurance... or maybe advice. For what it is worth, I have applied to SPED teaching assignments.
I am a member of Search Associates and have been sending out emails to schools. So far, I have sent roughly 10 emails to perspective schools without any response back. I have also applied at their websites as instructed. \
Is it too early in the recruiting cycle to hear back from schools? Are the compiling their short lists to contact perspective candidates?
A little help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Visa Question
So three different schools in Beijing have placed openings up in the past 2 days which is awesome! However, two of the three schools have an excerpt under "hiring policy" that states a teacher must have 5 years of teaching experience for visa circumstances. I have continued to look and saw that under the "job opening" area that the only requirement for applying is 2 years of work experience.
I would email the school and ask but I feel like the odds of them responding are low. Anyone have any insight on this?

2017-2018 Recruiting
The next school year recruiting season is upon us, roughly. This will be my first recruiting process and I have just recently became an active member of Search. Very excited and remotely optimistic I will land a desirable job for the next school year.
I am curious, though, when do job for the next school year really begin to pop up on Search? I am a SPED teacher so my current position matches are SPED/LD and Resource jobs. As of now there are a few but most seem like last minute hires for the 2016-2017 school year. I do see a few start dates for July/Aug of 2017 though.
Lastly, I have read several threads regarding contacting schools. There seems to be somewhat of a mix about contacting school via Search or through their website. In your opinion, which would be more appropriate. My gut is telling me to contact through Search since I am paying for the service. I feel like school will see how serious I am since I have jumped through several hoops to join the IT field already. I have read though to find the vacancies on Search and then contact the school via their website. When contacting school, do I simply send a Cover Letter to them expressing my interest like a normal job on Search?
Any other advice for a newbie you might want to share?
Thanks for the help and advice. I have gained a TON of knowledge form this website and value each response! Happy Recruiting!

Re: Beginner looking for advice
My advice, regarding your new journey, is to research this forum. I have spent countless hours on this forum learning about interview tips, to fair strategy/advice, to what to do here in the US when you move abroad. I even found answers to questions that I did not know I even had. There are roughly 90 pages of forum topics on this part of the forum and a plethora of info on the Forum 2. Ask Recruiting Questions, Share Information. What's on Your Mind? section.
My advice, as a fellow beginner to IT, is to start on page 1 and just keep working back a few years (does not take a long as you think). This way you find answers to questions you did not know you even had plus answer a few questions a long the way. I too have asked something similar to you post when I first got on here 2-3 years ago. Also what you'll learn is who has "been a around a while" and who is knowledgable to answer questions about beginning IT.
Good luck and maybe we will see one another at Cambridge!

@psyguy
If by "professional educator credential" you mean a teaching license I do have one from Virginia. I'm looking to "park" my license this year when I begin to live abroad.
Thanks for the detailed description of the SPED lite version a lot of IS use. Completely makes sense compared to the US version.
