I am considering a move from an international Canadian curriculum school to a British school. Has anyone done this and how did it work out? I have to admit, I don't know much about the National Curriculum, but I have this image of drowning in paperwork.
I guess I just have the jitters. I also interviewed for another Canadian (different provincial curriculum) school. I know the British school will pay more and the city the school is in will be more interesting. However, there is a level of comfort staying in the company of Canadians. In the end I know I'll take the Brit school if offered, but I have a feeling of nervousness about it.
Any thoughts?

GEMS Dubai American Academy & Others
Possible interview with GEMS coming up. Any thoughts on working for GEMS? I applied to a few on their website. Dubai American Academy was one and a British primary in Jumeirah.
Any thoughts on package? Accommodation? Either school in general? Is the package standard across schools?

Any Schools Holding Interviews in the UK Over Christmas?
We'll be back in the UK from December 20th to January 5th. Just wondering if any schools are interviewing during that period. We have two young kids, so it's tricky and expensive to get to a fair. We have a possibility of an interview in early January.
We're both Canadian trained, but I'm a Brit. Three years experience each in Egypt.

I'm pretty sure PsyGuy has never heard of this company. What he wrote was a description of any bottom end recruiter. In reality, he's probably right, only because they are not known on the big boys (and girls) circuit.
Still, his post would have come across a lot better if he'd started it, "I suspect that..............."
Psyguy always says his responses come from his own experiences or from people close to him. What's wrong with sharing information of others?
Well, he's never actually worked in the Middle East. The closest he came was a six week stint in Cairo, before he did a runner. Hence people's issues with his comments on the Middle East.
I'm not denying he has some good info in certain situations, but he constantly overstretches himself and doesn't know when to stop. Even if it's clear he is talking out of his rear end he still maintains his position and it becomes laughable (in a kind of psychotic / weird / psychiatric / health issue way).
Kinda sad and very annoying. He clearly has issues.
