Re: deleted post--tier two schools

Some time ago ISR did permit teachers to ask questions about specific schools and for evaluation type material to be posted. Some users took gross advantage of the situation and posted some very nasty comments about schools and directors. Subsequently, we heard from their attorneys. It appeared that a group had organized to cause problems for ISR as no teachers any of us have worked with would post such comments.

After that episode in our history we stopped private messaging because users had been harassed by this group and we also asked that forum users not post evaluation type material to the forum, but instead request a review be posted to the member area of the site. The member area with a paid membership falls into a different category than a public forum.

Yes, you will find evaluation type posts to the forum. These were posted prior to the the aforementioned episode.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and willingness to not jeopardize our position on the web.

Many thanks,

Ben @ ISR

Re: Schools in the Philippines

Please do not use the ISR forum to evaluate schools. A discussion of pay scale, insurance provided, travel allowance, etc., is acceptable material to be posted to the forum. A discussion of the director's performance be it good or bad - , tier level, overall atmosphere at the school, etc., is evaluation type material and we ask that you reserve such for the member area of the site. If in doubt, please do not post it. To post a review simply click the "send a review" link above. Be sure to leave a message here for the original poster that you have done so.

Many thanks,

Ben @ ISR

Re: Canadian International School Singapore Questions

We clearly ask that you not evaluate schools on the Forum. Posting information about salary, housing etc is fine. Delving into your impression of the director, etc., is evaluation type information and we ask you reserve that type of reporting for the member area. Help us avoid problems and please follow the forum rules. Forum Admin

Re: Camen Islands???

Yes, some posters are not good at spelling. You are right. Also keep in mind that many of these reviews are dashed off by the poster and not edited.

Re: Banned!

We have explained our position a number of times and will make this last attempt to help you and others understand our position.

We have banned these posters due to their insistence on attacking the opinions of other posters through the use of derogatory language instead of professional, constructive discourse. This includes attacks on ISR which appear purposed to diminish site integrity. Allowing posters to use the ISR Forum as a platform from which to maliciously attack other posters and ISR is counter productive and such posts will be removed immediately and the poster banned.

The ISR forum is not the personal playground of any user or group of users. It's purpose is to share pertinent information that assists forum uses living and working around the world.

Our attention was called to posts contrary to the above mentioned policy by forum users complaining they were being abused by other forum users. Interestingly, some complaints came from persons now banned from this forum who complained that some posters were posting comments contrary to their position on a topic and should be banned for doing so. When we did not ban them they took to attacking them.

Freedom of speech does not include using the ISR Forum to abuse others.
