The Mont Kiara quoted salary seems much lower than what I have been told by someone who worked there.
Maybe they didn't tell you the (whole) truth? Maybe they had 20 years experience and an MA? Or included housing? Or had had a few too many and were prone to exaggeration?

While not perfect, SA is generally fairly reliable. It is, after all, posted by the schools themselves.

Just nipped on to SA website.

ISKL - 4 years with BA - 43000 usd - 20% deducted for tax. 8 years with MA - 59000 - 20% tax.

Mount Kiara - 4yrs 27000usd / 8yrs 35000usd - 20 to 26% tax

IGB - 4yrs - 54000usd / 8yrs - 60000usd - 23% tax

FYI - Garden and Alice both have good reputations, but the Wonderland school is the non profit with the slightly better rep.

Why not Greengates? They have a good rep, the pay is very slightly higher by all accounts and they are PYP in primary. Very curious piece of advice.

Still think the difference has more to do with which curriculum the schools offer than quality of schools. SA had quite a few good schools on its list this year that ISS doesn't.But they don't really fit into its remit.
RE: tiers. I'm not really a tier person. I'll bow to your greater knowledge. 8)

"SA has a broad range of 1st - 3rd tier schools, ISS is almost almost exclusively elite and 1st tier schools (with some of the high desire 2nd tier schools)."

Just been onto ISS website and not sure if I can agree with you. Seem a fair few 3rd/4th tier schools too.

They seem more defined by the curriculum choice of their schools which seems narrower than SA.

Istanbul is absolutely fine. You should have no worries about going.

That said, which school?
