The school was wrong in what they did...but it sounds more like they did not do their homework properly in their reference checks and were warned off you after contracts had been signed. Stating that there is no job now available is to prevent legal action. Your website will not be hurting them in the slightest but will be giving them some comfort that they had a lucky escape.
@ Higgsboson...do you teach children about honesty and integrity? You use the existence of unscrupulous schools as an excuse. Don't hide behind the actions of others...you have made it clear that you are happy to lie and cheat, but say you do so because there are liars and cheats in the world. Sorry, but in my books you are simply a liar and a cheat and deserve the same amount of respect as the rest of them. That would be none!

Scowell - don't pay too much attention to Sigh Guy. You are a single, male primary teacher who has held positions of responsibility. There are relatively few of you around. I would suggest that you will be a strong candidate and would certainly get yourself interviews. What happens at this point will of course be dependant on you. Incidentally, the Director of NIST is an Aussie from Melbourne who has previously worked in Geelong, so having a prestigious independent school in Melbourne on your CV will certainly do you no harm.

Dear Sigh Guy...
While you may have lurked on the fringes of a job fair (although this is somewhat dubious), it is very clear that you don't have any responsibility for hiring.
My school pays a lot of money to bring ESL in the mainstream into...er the mainstream. Our MUN programme is also very important to the school.
Julie33...please, pay attention to the recruiter.
Sigh Guy, please don't waste your breath telling me we will have to disagree. A little like living in Switzerland...your opinion means nothing when it is not backed up by experience.

SighGuy...this is not a question of you agreeing or not. I am telling you how it is to live and work in Switzerland based upon my experience of having done so. I do not need you to agree or disagree as I am not giving you my opinion...and please take my advice...this is when you make yourself look foolish.

SighGuy...you simply (unfortunately) choose to disagree with any statement that differs from the one you have made yourself. I HAVE worked in ZIS...I can tell you that they DO employ from outside of europe. I can also tell you that I had more disposable income available at the end of the every month than any other place that I have worked...(Middle East and Asia). I could choose to eat out or I could choose to spend it on mortgages/expenses elsewhere. It was my choice. You can choose to ignore that if you wish...but, in your own words...that don't make it so!

No SighGuy - once again you are giving out misinformation. Zurich International School, International School Zug and Luzern and Inter-Community School Zurich all employ from outside of Europe. Yes, it is more work for them to get Visas but they do commit to doing this. The largest single nationality group of teachers in ZIS are from the US.
