Why would I go to the effort of making a video when the vast majority of schools don't require one?

Also I'm a mediocre teacher, so a video would probably be a bad recruiting tool.

There's a very good chance of them (and you) being kidnapped or killed in most places in sub-Saharan Africa. The safety situation means it's just not worth it to go.

Not in China, but some reasons could be...

1) Money
2) Women
3) In the right school, the work is easy.
4) Everyone does things that are unhealthy, so it all depends on your personal risk tolerance. Most of us drink alcohol, despite the well reported health downsides. I bet just about everyone here has been to a McDonalds but we all know their food is unhealthy.
5) Can't find a job elsewhere.

It can be around £14k a year for international students in the UK.

Plus it sorta goes without saying, most kids wouldn't have a snowballs chance in hell at getting into Oxbridge.

I'd go with a program in the EU since if you don't have a UK address you won't be able to get the tuition fee loan (essentially making university free for IE's), and the EU is cheaper.

I'd never even consider spending hundreds of dollars for an interview. Especially in WE.

Sit on a beach drinking beer in SEA. Just rent a room for like $15 a night for all of summer.

I consider sick days to be part of my annual leave entitlement. Always made sure I used the maximum amount per year that I could.

They're great when the traffic is horrendous, you've had a late night, or just can't face going into work. They have them in America too - personal days I think they're called?

The main thing is - make it an online degree. Otherwise the cost of the course will be dwarfed by the opportunity cost of not having a salary for a year.

I'm definitely on the side of keep it as cheap as possible, though also agree with PsyGuy that it should have some potential use in the future. Some UK unis are offering distance learning MA Ed.Ld courses. Costs range between £4,500 and £8,000. Even if it never gets you into leadership, it should pay itself back providing you stay in education and aren't near retirement age. And if it does get you into leadership, then it'll have paid for itself many times over.

I'd take the admin job at the tier 3, simply because the vast majority of people have a dream of being admin of a tier 1 school, while very very few will ever get to realise that dream.

If you work your way up to be a teacher at a tier 1, when your VP retires or leaves there's going to be hundreds of people going for that job. No guarantee you're getting it. In fact, you're probably not.

How much money are you been offered? Where exactly is the location? China is a big place, and what might be a tolerable set of circumstances in Shanghai will be totally different in some arse end of the country.

I'd wager the vast majority of IT's get hired through Skype, not through a fair.
