Capital One does not have the 3% fee for overseas use. And they give you 1% cash back.

We spent 2 years at FDR.

Lets make this clear. It is a school for 90% rich Peruvians. The kids are mean and spoiled. If I had kids I would NOT move there. If I was single or a couple and you wanted a Latin American experience it would be fine.

School ends at 3:30 and everyone is done, no real school community.

Saying all this Peru is amazing, great travel experiences.

But your kids, especially MS and HS may go through a living hell.

The American School of Doha has been a great fit for our family!

Great students to teach, new school building, saving 40,000$ per year.

While in Doha I have gone to professional golf, tennis, soccer, and track and field.

We are busy every weekend, plus we have taken great trips to Sri Lanka, Jordan and Kenya.

I would only work for a non-profit school and I have heard horror stories from other teachers at other schools.....

Maybe PsyGuy needs to listen a bit more and post a bit less.....

An old friend lasted a year there...

Lied about the contract.

Didn't sponsor her husband.

Shoddy housing...

Is that enough??

Yes, that is really low. I make 15,000.

And you MUST have a car! Taxi's are very hard to get off the street.

That school is not the best either..... It would be a way to get your foot in the door..... but it could be a very rough year....

Hope this helps!
