Thanks Heliotrope. I always appreciate your positive and friendly posts to my and others queries.
Not sure about the comic sans font or neon colours but might give it a go.

New resume for re-applying? Use a professional service?

I've been using the same resume for some years now when applying to the same schools. I think a fresh look might be in order as the same eyes are seeing it again and again. But I wonder if I might also benefit from a professional service to help my approach and advise me on: resume, introduction letter, etc. Are there any recommended services? Is it at all necessary? I've been told my resume and intro letter are good. Maybe I shouldn't make any changes?

Best PYP workshop or otherwise to take?

For someone who has a few years of PYP teaching experience as well as having completed some PYP workshops is there a best workshop PYP or otherwise I can take to make myself the most marketable as a teacher, not a coordinator to PYP schools?

Europe: Years of teaching recognised for teacher salary?

Which schools in Europe take into consideration your years of teaching when determining your salary? I'd be interested in hearing about schools in other locations too but primarily Europe.

Re: Relinquishing Canadian Residency

Many years ago when I left Canada I telephoned Revenue Canada about residency and taxes. They told me at the time I could not leave Canada and declare myself a non-resident. They said they would determine if I was a resident based on my links to Canada. They told me about strong links (owning a house, business, car, properties, investments) and weak links (library card, memberships in organizations, clubs, etc) and advised cutting as many as possible. But they told me if I cut everything but they knew I made lots of money abroad they would definitely try to tax it.
In the last couple of years I have heard about the option of declaring non-residency when you leave. But I you have to meet the criteria. I did a quick Google but didn't find anything useful in the first few hits.

Relinquishing Canadian Residency

Is there any point in relinquishing my Canadian residency? I understand one can inform the Canadian government and make it clear that one is going to reside in a different country. Apparently it helps when it comes to tax issues but there are drawbacks. I'm from Ontario. Any comments?

Return to Germany and continue with pension?

I taught in Germany for 2 years about 10 years ago.
1. If I return to Germany would I be continuing into a pension contribution system with 2 years already in?
2. If I taught in an EU country other than Germany can I somehow make those 2 years working in Germany work for me in terms of any pension contribution I made?
3. If I do not return to Germany or any other EU country is there a state pension contribution I made for those 2 years that I can apply to have returned to me?

Re: Wiring your teacher earnings to Canada?

I telephoned Royal Bank and they said it won't be taxed, no holds, no explanations will be asked. I said for roughly $40,000 CDN. I will be using it immediately to pay debts and purchase plane tickets for to my next posting. Who knows what will come up the next time I file a tax return. I'm hoping Revenue Canada has bigger fish to fry and won't bother with me.

Wiring your teacher earnings to Canada?

Does anyone know or have first hand experience with wiring their savings from their host country to their bank account in Canada and any taxes or problems, holds, etc. they might experience? I'm thinking of moving roughly $40,000 CDN. Any advice?

Seeking schools/principals: Ontario certified

I'm hoping to complete a practicum abroad and need to find either:

1. A school using the Ontario curriculum.
or
2. A school whose principal is certified by the Ontario College of Teachers and has their Principal Qualification Program certification. (I would be interested hearing about schools certified by other Canadian provinces)

I'm hoping to find such a school in Asia but would be interested in other locations. Is anyone aware of any school/principal or have any ideas on how to search for one?

Thanks.
