@wrldtrvlr123 I always wonder though how some people would feel if a school had a policy of preferring to hire non-religious teachers? Probably wouldn't go over too well. :D

Don't think it would matter too much as most discerning punters should make informed choices based on what they know about certain places.
International schools with religious mantras front and center are the most bigoted schools out there tbh.

Hong Kong IS have a 7 page application form in which 2 or 3 qs are about your religious background.

My wife (then girlfriend) had a chat with Concordia Shangai once, all was going good until they asked if we were married. No we aren't. Well okay we won't hire you unless you are. Buh-bye then. Same school was racist towards my friend when she took her basketball team there.
Like it or lump it the schools you mentioned make no apologies for being what they are and nor should they. If you don't like it do your homework and apply elsewhere. They have certain values they won't deviate from and although some of these values do not sit well with me, I respect the fact they are upfront in telling you about them.

Both HKIS and Concordia are overseen by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and if you read a little about this group, you will be left in no doubt about what these schools believe in. http://www.lcms.org/page.aspx?pid=388

I have visited both schools on a number of occasions and have always been warmly welcomed and treated with dignity and respect. Both have amazing facilities and would be worth considering if you hold similar values to those mentioned in the aforementioned website.

@pguy The PYP has had problems I've heard but he problems are minor when compared to outside the school.

The primary would have big problems with the PYP seeing as they are UK national curriculum school and currently want nothing to do with PYP.

Being as how i've had my account "vanish" hacked on this forum twice in the past, and do enjoy my anonymity, why anyone would think I or anyone would post their (my) "exact" resume in a public forum is beyond me.

So Psyguy, we can deduce from this comment that you are actually admitting to lying about who you are and what you do? Interesting!!!!

Your petulant arrogance and continual denials with no substance to back up your comments is verging on ridiculous.

No matter how many times you repeat things, I for one am convinced that forum users such as Hawkeye and Walter have exposed you for the fraud you are and also as an incredibly confused individual.

No teacher who currently works in an international school could, or should have the time to devote to this site that you so obviously have. This is really quite sad when you think about it and you must lead an incredibly lonely life when all you have to fall back on is your persona that appears online.

My advice to you is to stop living vicariously through others, try and find a job that involves fiction writing and leave the educators and real people on the forum to listen to those who actually know what they are talking about.

Of course your unfortunate need to justify your existence will necessitate that you respond again, but once more this will just show how pathetic you have become.

Choice is yours, can you let it go and take the first step to growing up?

Or will you go ahead and respond, and prove me right?

Thank you for your interesting perception Lonesome Ocean.
Unfortunately, it seems that some people who read this forum are more easily influenced and do believe, and even act upon advice from various contributors. If the advice is based on experience and knowledge then that's fantastic. If it is baseless and fraudulent, no matter how good it sounds to the uninitiated, then it can be quite dangerous.
I am not here to judge, but like you, I will take all the information that has been presented and I will make informed choices as to what is worth believing. I respectfully suggest that everyone else does the same.

Psyguy,

Your insipid response to Hawkeye was extremely disappointing. You hardly address any of the issues raised and once again you have tried to divert attention by going off one one of your tangents to try and deflect an obvious lack of knowledge.
