I did turn down a few other offers on top of those I turned down at UNI. Feel I did very well getting into JIS on first overseas school.

I took a position at Jakarta International school. A really great process and extensive interviews. I did 4 Skype for a total of 5-6 hours. Tim Carr seems to be as good as his reputation.
Just need to pack, sell everything, and get onan airplane! LOL

Already have 40 schools bookmarked and check them twice per week! LOL 8)

I must be a horrible teacher.....Did Iowa fair and turned down two offers from 9 interviews. Yes kicking myself now.
Nothing has been coming across the net and I do check daily.
Should I consider London? It would be a stretch for me financially but could do it. Or should I wait for Bethesda? Psyguy says tons there and another says 14 schools. Not signed up with search but considering it. Have spent tons and getting a little gun shy.

I was at UNI ...my first fair. Very stressful and a great learning experience. I had 9 interviews and only 2 offers for schools really not interested in. What are my next steps? I am k-8 Science/math with a masters in instructional technology. 13 years experience in the public schools. I even applied for some of the tech positions.
I am hoping some of the experienced members could give advise on what my next steps should be. Really do not want to be in my current position next year.

What I have done is taken all the schools listed on this site and color coordinated them. I first deleted countries I would not want as postings. Then researched each one...well not finished but getting there! Bold black got a cover letter and resume, green means more research needed and red not interested. I used reviews from this board and from the search feature on the forum plus other sites to come to my conclusions.
Is it a perfect system? No, but it does give me someplace to start when I get to the fair in Iowa.
P.S. It helps to be an*l retentive! LOL

Boston sounds good but it seems the early bird gets the job. It also seems that Skype interviews are the method of use for many of these schools. I have sent out over 20 letters and hope to see some returns after the new year. Will send out an extra 5 today! Really not picky on location....anyplace is better than Detroit area and the collapse of the public schools. Psyguy did you get a chance to look at my site? Thanks!

TIE did not have many listings for what I want. Middle School Science..I like blowing stuff up! LOL And no I am not a fired teacher for blowing up a classroom. Tired of the B.S. going on in education. My pay cut was 38% this year and will be an extra cut of 5-8% next year. Class size is through the roof and it is no longer teaching. Oh and I teach in a wealthy district!
So a short list...
Good school with good housing and a wage where I can start saving for my retirement. Would have to allow some creative freedom in teaching.
Is that too picky? LOL
