Teaching couple with three kids

Hi all,
My wife and I are teachers at a Tier One school in SE Asia. We are thinking of moving back to Europe and should both be pretty employable, but we have three kids. I know that many schools won't educate three kids and that many of those that will are in countries where the tuition is a taxable benefit. I also know that three kids makes us more expensive. I have been given the impression by some people that this makes our chances of a good school in Europe very limited. Others seem to think that as we are a teaching couple we might be OK. I know that a teaching couple is a positive and that three kids is a negative and I suspect that in many cases the negative will outweigh the positive. What I don't know is whether the arrival of our third child has dented, damaged or destroyed our chances .Any honest insights into this situation would be really appreciated and no doubt very useful for others in our position. We won't hold bad news against her next time she pours milk all over the floor- honest...
Thanks.

Pathetic

Honestly, this is just sad.
You disagree with the guy. Ignore him. Argue with him. Both valid options. Bleating and crying because he said things you don't like is more than a little pathetic. This is only exacerbated by the pompous, self-righteous tone adopted.
There is something very unsavoury about the way that some of you are ganging up here. You might want to think about whether this attempted bullying reflects particularly well on you. From where I sit I think you're not only making fools of yourselves, but behaving in a way that suggests that should Psyguy leave the site, it won't be long before you find someone else who just 'needs' to be told off.

Tanglin

I work at UWC and I can tell you that Tanglin is very well regarded as a school. I don't know exact details about the package, but I believe that it is pretty similar to ours, meaning that you can live very well on it. I've seen a few things on here about standard/cost of living in Singapore of late suggesting that the salaries don't go very far and it is a real misconception.
Teachers at Tanglin work very hard, but they are well paid for it. From everything that I hear, I would definitely recommend Tanglin to you.

Happy Schools in Europe

Hi,
My wife and I are looking to move back to Europe with our two young children. We're at a great school in Singapore right now and have thoroughly enjoyed Asia and the school itself. All the practical considerations are there of course- will it be a good education for the kids, will we be paid enough not to worry about money etc- and we definitely want to live somewhere beautiful and /or with a rich culture.
Most of those things we can take an educated guess at. What is hard to figure out is which schools have a happy, positive atmosphere. I thought it might be a question that lots of people might be interested in, but forgive me if it has been asked before.
In short, which schools are happy ones?
Where are the staff friendly, the kids and parents contented, the general tone an upbeat, good-humoured one? Places where people laugh would be number one I think. I'm curious about Europe, but maybe others would be interested in schools in other places? Where in your experience are people happy?
I'll start by saying that Greengates in Mexico is wonderfully human, very warm and a great place to work and UWC in Singapore whilst very busy, has a fantastic staff and a wonderfully can-do vibe.
Anywhere come to mind?
