PGCE - Tes - Is it any good?

Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone has any experience with UEL in terms of getting a iPGCE. I hear both good and bad things about the school but decent things about the program. It is done through Tes.com.

I would appreciate your thoughts and comments very much so, if you could please let me know I would greatly appreciate it! Your experience could save me thousands.

Yes, right now China seems like the only option - the pay is great and hours too. I've heard both good and bad things so I have no idea. I wanted to try Vietnam but who knows. I've I really want this to be a career I feel like doing a Sunderland pgce is the way to go as its very good for the application and resume.

Future of teaching - only 2 real options

This forum has helped me out quite a bit and I hope it can help me one last time here.

I am interesting in solidifying my teaching career but I can't go to the UK. I am seeing more and more that schools want either Master Ed or PCGE with QTS. The qualifications and standards have sky rocketed.

I feel like there are only 2 real options to getting a good teaching position for now and in the future.

From what I see the Moreland, teach now option works but then people are getting their masters degrees as well.
OR
Get pgcei + iQTS

Either way this will take a lot of money and time. I am wondering if there are any other options before I make the plunge. This is a super heavy investment and there is no turning back after.

I really don't know what to do and feel lost, any help would be appreciated. I am teaching accounting now if anyone needs background.

Also is there anyway to get a school to pay for this? its just too damn expensive.

Thanks.

In Asia - Dont want to go back to the West - International School - Hlep

My first post, please be nice!

I to work at an International School and in business in Asia - Thailand for not and all positions seem to want a PGCE or masters in education or some teaching qualification. Now I'm not from the UK so PGCE is something I can't get. Masters in ED is way too expensive and I don't know any other equivalent qualifications other than the teach now - American one at 6500USD which I have not yet seen any UK school accept.

So my question is for someone who doesn't want to go back to their "home country" or can go to "the UK" and get a teaching degree, what options are accepted in Asia? I hear Nottingham PGCEi = 6000USD can be enough but there is no teaching practicum, Sunderland has a one but it’s 9000USD.

My current qualifications: TEFL + Bachelor of Business + 3 years of teaching experience in private academy

Please let me know all the options I am DESPERATE! I have literally no idea what to do. I want the teaching practicum to get better as a teacher but i also want the job. It’s as if though I have to invest 9000 USD in the Sunderland one myself which is a tough to pay, but if i get the American one - 65000USD, I’m not sure if ill be accepted in the international schools.

Please help!!
