Re: Situation in Qatar

I’m currently teaching in Qatar and can confirm that masks are now optional for staff and students. After school activities and field trips have also been reinstated. Our parent teacher conferences and all other meetings are in-person again.

To get into the school buildings, every adult has to present a “green” status on the covid tracking app called Ehteraz. The Ehteraz app is required to enter all buildings in the country, including restaurants, medical centers, banks, etc.

Many of our students aged 5 and up are vaccinated. If a student isn’t fully vaccinated or hasn’t had covid in the past 9 months, they’re required to take a weekly rapid antigen test at home. It’s required by the Ministry for these students to bring a signed declaration form every Sunday to school in order to attend classes for the week. As teachers, we collect the forms on Sundays and send those who don’t have it to reception to contact their parents.
