Re: Current 2019 list of countries with best savings potenti

Right now I am saving ~50% of my salary in Tbilisi ($2000 per month go straight to my investment accounts) while still eating out regularly and traveling. A very solid balance of lifestyle and cost of living exists in Georgia. Hard to get a good job though as QSI is the only big player (British school I hear is decent too though), but you can't apply directly to any of their schools as an overseas hire. The rest of the Caucuses are similar in this regard.

Would you mind if I PMed you a few questions about that school? It's been on my radar for awhile, and we are looking this year.

Re: What do families do during summer vacation?

We are beginning our third year overseas. By the beginning of next summer we will have saved enough for a downpayment on a house in a desirable, year round destination area. We have children, and since we will be staying overseas, we feel it's important that they have a place they feel connected to and grounded by, no matter where we are living. We'll probably rent it out for the winter (ski lease) then take it over for the summer for as much or as little as we feel like. We are also hopeful that it will be a place where friends and family can come visit us and would want to. There are worse investments you could make.

Reaching out to schools who aren't yet hiring... in person?

Hey,

First time posting here - I've been reading for a little while and appreciate the knowledge (and humor) from this forum. I remember a while back, but can't find the posting - something about reaching out to schools when you are there, to try and get an information meeting with a principal/director. Family is on a road trip and we'll be going through a few places where my top choice schools are.

Is this a good idea? How would you approach?

I welcome your thoughts.
