Re: Moving Home Success Stories?
Schools usually provide a letter on school letter head stating your years of service and your position. My guess is if you have letters of verification that add up to 10 years (or however many you have worked) that would suffice. Bioguy21 wrote: > TeachHereTeachThere wrote: > Thanks for this insight...

Re: Out side China job offers
Schools are also not interviewing candidates currently in China who have stated they will go home this summer and then come back who have dependents. Too much uncertainty with faith that dependents would be able to get out and back in. I'm fine with this if the school is transparent and upfront abou...

ISS and Schrole Split
As many know, ISS and Schrole have ended their partnership, returning to individual recruiting agencies. What do people think will be the best move for teachers based on this split? Will ISS have better access to schools globally as they have the history? Will one be better regionally (Schrole in SE...

Resume Services and ATS
Hi all, Recently stumbled across a consulting company that specializes in international teacher recruitment. They offer interview prep, resume building and cover letter support amongst other services. One of the things they highlighted was the importance of your resume being ATS friendly. I'm not go...

School is changing our contracts in the spring
Hi, Hoping to get the collective thoughts from the ISR community on something that I have never experienced before in an international school. My current school has came out in April and changed the contract for next year after teachers were required to give their intention for the following academi...

PE Teachers and schools that only locally hire
Like the post title alludes to, I am looking for information (regions or cities) where PE teachers are generally not an international hire position but a local hire position. I have asked for specific schools in the paid section of the Forum but no luck yet. I know that a large school in Sao Paulo i...

Re: chances for newbie teaching couple
Bilingual schools are T4 with regards to the international-ness. As far as packages, work-life balance etc they range from T3 to high T2, however the average would be T3. At bilingual schools, you follow the Chinese system much more closely as far as curriculum, holidays and teaching style. Also, th...

Re: Professor Career Changer
"By decent, I mean a non-profit school where working conditions are tolerable and pay and benefits, initially at least, are sufficient to support a family." This will be very hard to achieve based on your resume. If you are willing to look at For-Profit schools, with the PhD you could very...

Re: chances for newbie teaching couple
The two year rule is bendable (there are teachers at schools in China who do not have licenses). It does mean that you will be aiming for T3 schools or Chinese schools with a dual international program offering. Often those people start at a school and get experience and then move to a better school...
