Re: Cheap and easy (online) Masters?
Which country is your friend from? That will make a big difference. If she's Australian I have a recommendation. But if she's not Australian it won't be cheap.

Re: Search technicality
As stated, no. I have changed mine multiple times. The only catch is that they noticed and put my application into "hibernation" which means schools can't see me. But when I asked nicely they changed some setting so that I can search/see schools they just can't see me at this point. And th...

Re: Red flags or paranoia?
5 years in 2 schools certainly doesn't sound undesirable but it doesn't make you highly experienced either. Especially if that's your total teaching experience rather than international experience (I don't know what DS means so I wasn't sure where you'd been working). I'm a bit confused by who you t...

Re: Job offer red flags
Hmmm. It was pretty generous of you to accept based on those details. But having said that, in my experience of international schools (three so far, all of the excellent places to work) a week is a very short time to wait. So don't abandon all hope. But, having said that I'd feel free to send a foll...

That guy with the dragon
Hi all, Looking for any information on the school in Quilmes, Argentina? Owned by that guy who killed the dragon. The reviews on ISR are pretty damming, but just wondering if there's anyone with recent experience of working there who could give me a little more background. Thanks. ------------------...

Re: Slower start to recruiting?
I actually feel like I'm seeing less from Asia than in the past but it's still early... Interesting that others feel otherwise (especially as I'm maths as well). I guess some of it is just luck. Last time I changed jobs (5 years ago) the number of maths jobs were insane and it seemed hardly anyone w...

Re: Schools on roughly a Jan - Dec school year
It's mainly South American schools I'm interested in. I'm perfectly happy with a March start. I've found a few S. American schools that have a roughly calendar year but I'm just putting this post out in case anyone throws some names out that I haven't heard of. The ones I've come across are names pe...

Re: ISS or Search if Can't make Job Fair?
I've never used ISS but I find the Search database worth every penny... Personally I don't go to job fairs, I don't see it as worth the money (although if I had less experience I'd be more likely to consider it). Went once, fascinating experience but considering the cost (not of the fair, of the tim...

Schools on roughly a Jan - Dec school year
Hi All, For various reasons I've decided I really want to try and get a job in a school that runs on a roughly Jan - Dec school year. I've got a few questions that I'd love answered if anyone has information. 1. Please let me know any international schools that you know of that run on this schedule....
