Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Following my question in another topic, I prefer to ask here for clarity (there is my degrees' description above), do you think I qualify for the MA licensure in order to move it to HI? I am mostly concerned about the bachelor degree/ITT as the MA website just says "Submission of an official transcr...

Re: obtaining QTS/US teaching license questions

Interesting post... As for Teach Now, I hear well that the DC will be more and more under the spotlights of the British MoE. Why not getting directly an HI license? Would it work this way? So, to get a MA license, the MTEL tests are necessary. Would you consider them as difficult as the PRAXIS? I wo...

Re: Questions about Teach Now (PsyGuy please help me)

Thanks

Late reply but I wonder what you mean about the PRAXIS results and how the results can affect my entry in Teach Now. Do they have to know that I took/tried them??
I assume that PRAXIS tests can be taken as often as one needs?

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Hello Thank you for your kind help and articulated answer. ( I would also thank you in the other topics we participated in but I'll do once for all here!) I doubled checked the ECTS conversion. I was right for the ratio CH/ECTS but completely wrong about the equivalence between real hours and ECTS a...

Translation into English (NACES) : how to get a translation that we can reuse in different countries (US /UK /CAN...)?

Hello all, Being interested in doing Teach-Now, I need to send my degrees, transcripts and other diplomas to a NACES certified agency. The cost raises quickly and translation is the main reason. Unfortunately, I will need those papers in different English speaking countries for the same purpose and ...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

@PsyGuy Allow me to answer directly in your message below: I read that you had a masters but also the description of your bachelors/first degree. The NACES evaluation is going to read that you have a three year degree which isnt equivalent to a four year bachelors/first degree. >>> I am of course no...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Not sure to understand as I never mentioned a 120h fsl/fle certificate or diploma here. If you're telling not to translate my degree as I do, I disagree : my degree is clearly equivalent to a bachelor and grant me access to a master, which I did afterwards. You're right that, for some countries, a B...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Hum, you make me confused. ^^ As I mentioned that I have already a master, I wonder whether you missed this info or you are really saying that an M.Ed might suffice you to have a license in DC. I feel I should describe a bit more my profile here to get the best suggestions: I plan on doing Teach-Now...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Hi, Thanks for your replies. @marieh Just to clarify, I never mentioned a master from Harvard but a certificate. I concur with PsyGuy that I don't see a problem to write Havard on the resume as, in the IS market, I don't see real legal issues/risks. One should mention the difference in an interview ...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Thank you. I have the same reasoning than you about Harvard and its reputation. However, with the emergence of multiple certificates, micro-masters, impressive certificates titles from prestigious unis but with a minimal content (6 up to 15h), I suspect that recruiters start to be cautious regarding...

Re: University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

@Smoko "My main gripe is with the name. I really don't want to put "University of the People" on my resume..." I agree! And we're probably unanimous about it. ;) @Immortus Yeah... You're right. There is no master of education leadership. There is a link with such a title but it points to the people ...

University of the People - Master in Education Leadership

Dear all, any feedback regarding this master? The UotP offers an almost free master around 2300USD based on the philosophy that knowledge should be for all. Many volunteer teachers there. The uni is nationally accredited; I feel it is good enough for abroad. I cannot find much info about this Master...

Re: Utah's Associate Educator License - new option?

Based on the lot of reading I did about licenses and other, while I did not get the answer specifically about this license, I believe it is not transferable.

Re: Questions about Teach Now (PsyGuy please help me)

Update 2: While I kept reading about the issues regarding the DC /Teach Now to QTS, I found that the issue is not new but I would appreciate if anyone knew what is the last update on the conversion policy. Teach Now tells they can find me an internship in the US. I'm not sure if the state where I do...
