Re: Insurance Over the Summer in US

Nothing. I'll be cheaper to just pay cash and cross our fingers we don't need an emergency room.

Insurance Over the Summer in US

We are American and will be in the US over the summer. We will be between jobs. Whenever I try to apply for travel insurance, I get the disclaimer that US citizens don't qualify. Does anyone know of a company they recommend? ACA is not acceptable for this situation.

Re: TV with luggage

No TV with the housing...hence my dilemma. You're allowed one TV customs free. My current TV is the same plug as the new country.

Re: TV with luggage

This is normally how I roll as well...BUT our new country has about 1000% markup on electronics...and our shipment won't arrive until Christmas. I refuse to pay $1000 for a tv. I wish I could say I was highbrow enough that we don't watch tv...but we do...especially during the NFL season...and this interminable pandemic.

TV with luggage

Have any of you ever traveled with a tv? Where I'm moving I know electronics are expensive, and my shipment won't arrive for several months. I'm thinking of buying one at home and bringing it with me. Thoughts?

Re: MYP to IGCSE Without Year 10

I thought of repeating it, but he's very bright and already getting high marks in Maths/Sciences so I think that would be a killer for him. I like the idea of not doing the whole suite.

MYP to IGCSE Without Year 10

My family is in a quandary....we may be losing our jobs due to budget cuts. Our son is very happy where we are, and he's a Year 10 MYP student. If we have to leave and are forced into a situation where the only option is starting IGCSE as a Year 11...is it possible? Or was his coursework in Year 10 MYP completely not adequate?

Attestation Service Rec

Can anyone recommend a good online service who can help get my documents attested? They are from the US and are needed for Netherlands. The previous company I used for my current job won't do it.

Re: Small school v/s big school

For me since I have kids....they play a big role for now in what's the best fit. Bigger schools were better for them so they have more activity choice, class choice, and wider variety of kids in general. I'm sure this may change when they've flown the coop and my hubby and I are on our own.

Who can give me some real numbers on a 3bedroom flat in the Hague? It would not be city center ...more like Escamp or Loosduinen..

Radio Silence

We had two what we thought were good interviews last week. We were told that they would be consulting with the Admin team and they'd get back to us....So far nothing....It's getting late in the season to be waffling....Are we 2nd choice and they're waiting to hear from their first choice? Should we send a "just checking in" email?

Barcelona Neighborhoods

What are the most affordable neighborhoods in your opinion? Only important factor is a link to the metro.

Bi-Lingual Necessity?

I'm very interested in a vacancy in Guatemala. On the list of "preferred" qualifications it lists bilingual. How hard and fast is that when picking candidates? I've got some basic Spanish, but would need to live there to get into a more conversational swing of things. Thoughts?
