Search actually do list a few in the USA. Just go to your Search profile and search by country, click USA and you'll see a few pop up.

Re: Certificate Transfer to NJ is Taking Too Long

Why the transfer to NJ? Is there something about that I don't know? Easy to renew or something?

Re: Recommended doctoral programs

Do you still recommend Bath?

I’m in Poland. A quick search doesn’t show me anything that is available in my area. Edu is the area I want to study. I am thinking a taught course would be better, but that is on the assumption that some of the courses will be valuable to me. Perhaps I’m wrong there. I would consider an Ed.d but at the moment I can’t fathom a way to take what I am interested in and make it something actionable in a classroom the way that an Ed.d is described.

Say I did take the Ed.D path with Bath. The way it looks to me that would mean about three years, two to take the units offered and than probably another one year to complete the thesis. Taking the units would mean spending 1-3 weeks during the summer or winter for face to face class time followed up by 160 hours of research work and submission. Then and advisor is assigned and you begin a research thesis which follows pretty normal procedure to be defended/presented when ready.

The Ph.d just skips the first bit and goes right to the research with advisor? The main difference in the thesis being that 90,000 words are required vs. the Ed.d’s 45,000?

Re: Recommended doctoral programs

Hey @PsyGuy,
Well, I’ve made it to EU residency so I am ready to consider a UK/EU program. However, Brexit is on the horizon so I am not sure if I should be applying to UK universities for that doctorate. Do you know of good programs within the EU for a doctorate by distance learning?

Re: Counseling

@psyguy you seem pretty pessimistic on any of the options. Why so? To the numbers you are peeling out for grad school in the US seem pretty standard.

Hm, so maybe possible to start with CTC to dip my toe in, if I like it, have the credit through SUNY and use that program for DC credential?

Re: Counseling

Thanks @psyguy

I’d looked at ptc/ Ctc but most counselors in my life told me that, while good programs, they would not lead to a position in international school counseling.

Counseling

American considering making the change from teaching to counseling. Have education masters, if that matters. Looking for a program that is mostly or all online, cheap, but willing to consider less cheap options if the quality is there. Bonus points for international focus and includes college counseling. I know there has been a post on similar topics in the past, but have searched a bit off that and looking to see if there’s an update or something more specific to my search. Thanks in advance for the help.

ISS-Schrole, dead?

Yesterday and today I've tried logging into the ISS-Schrole site and no luck. Anyone else having the same problem or is it just me? I've done some trouble shooting and I don't think it is me. Anyone know what is going on?

Asking the Interviewer questions in return

I always encounter this when interviewing. We run through the usual questions, maybe a few unusual ones, and towards the end of an interview the person will ask, is there anything that you would like to ask us?
I'm always a bit stumped by this one. Pretty much what I want to know I've gathered information on already or they have told me in the interview, but I always feel like there should be some deeper answer here or a response I just can't think of.

Have any of you fielded this questions well? What would be things that you ask the interviewer?

Re: Search's Criminal Background Document

Thanks All, good thoughts, but I guess what I am more getting at is not if the school is in the right to check. I would assume they are. Every school I've been at has asked for at least my last country's check. The problem comes when you've done more than 3 countries in a decade. I suppose, I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
