Hey everyone. I'm wondering what my chances are of landing a job. I have a trailing spouse. She is a teacher, but currently stays home with our two daughters (3 and 1). I know that this really puts a dent in my competitiveness, but we would like to go to Africa, which seems like it might be less competitive overall. Opinions and advice?
A bit more about my situation:
-In my 11th year teaching HS English. 1 year overseas in French public HS, 10 in bay area, California. Last 7 in high-performing district.
-BA/MA in English
-Experience as Department Chair
-Departmental Tech Lead (tech support for department). Also run school-wide professional development sessions for tech tools.
-IB Training, but no IB teaching experience.
-Certified online/blended teacher (equivalent to Leading Edge Digital Educator Cert.)
Have been looking mainly in East Africa (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia), but open to other options as well.
Thanks a lot!
